Why LIV RV No Longer Permits 3rd Party Inspections On-Site

LIV RV has clarified its stance on third-party inspections, with one important distinction: customers may hire inspectors, but inspections cannot occur on company property.

Operational and safety rationale

Our production facility is an active workspace. Outside inspections create disruptions to factory operations and pull staff attention away from the units they’re building. With strong customer demand, keeping the line moving matters — both for our team and for the people waiting on a delivery date.

Beyond operations, we’ve seen real liability issues. Past incidents include:

  • An inspector reversed battery connections, damaging electrical components.
  • Improper propane detection resulted in false leak claims.
  • A roof evaluation misidentified our bonded sealing system as deficient.
  • An unregulated water connection damaged plumbing.
  • Wheels were removed without proper retorque procedures, creating a safety risk.
  • Ladder safety violations nearly caused an inspector injury.

What we offer instead

Rather than restrict inspections entirely, every LIV customer gets a complimentary night at a local campground. That means you can test the unit in real conditions and arrange a third-party inspection off-site if you’d like. Anything that turns up can be reviewed and addressed through the warranty process.

Our position

This isn’t about concealment — it’s about accuracy. Our construction differs significantly from traditional RV standards, and outside inspectors are often unfamiliar with composite-bonded methods. We fully support a customer’s right to have their unit inspected, provided the evaluation happens away from the production floor and is performed by someone equipped to read the build correctly.
