Lightweight Travel Trailers

Light enough to tow with what you already own. Our composite shell is lighter than wood framing — so getting there is part of the joy.

Weight is the whole point of a lightweight travel trailer: a lighter trailer tows with a smaller vehicle, sips less fuel, and is easier to back, brake, and handle in crosswinds. Because LiV trailers are built from welded composite instead of a wood frame and skin, they come in dramatically lighter than comparable trailers their size — many under 2,500 pounds dry.

That means a lot of LiV floorplans are towable by a full-size SUV or a half-ton truck, no diesel required. Always check your vehicle's rated tow capacity, then compare the lightest LiV models below by dry weight, length, and price.

Questions

Good to know

How light is a LiV travel trailer?

Several LiV floorplans come in under 2,500 lbs dry — our lightest is under 1,900 lbs. The wood-free composite build is the reason they weigh far less than comparable wood-framed trailers.

Can an SUV tow a LiV travel trailer?

Many full-size SUVs and half-ton trucks can tow the lighter LiV models. Compare the dry weights above against your vehicle's rated tow capacity (and factor in cargo and passengers).
